The Fitness Mindset

The Fitness Mindset Book Review

“The Fitness Mindset” by Brian Keane is a book that aims to provide readers with the tools and strategies to develop a strong and sustainable fitness mindset.

The book targets individuals struggling with motivation or consistency regarding their fitness goals.

Strengths of “The Fitness Mindset”:

One of the strengths of “The Fitness Mindset” is its focus on mindset and the psychological aspects of fitness.

The author argues that developing a strong and positive mindset is the key to achieving long-term success and that physical changes are often a byproduct of a healthy mindset.

The book provides practical advice and strategies for developing a fitness mindset, including setting goals, developing positive self-talk, and overcoming obstacles and setbacks.

The author also emphasizes the importance of creating a personalized plan that works for the individual’s lifestyle and preferences.

Additionally, the book includes information on nutrition and exercise, including tips and guidelines for creating a healthy and sustainable fitness routine.

However, some readers may find that the book lacks specific and actionable advice for implementing the strategies discussed.

The author’s writing style may not be for everyone, as it can sometimes come across as overly enthusiastic or self-promoting.

Overall, “The Fitness Mindset” can be useful for those looking to develop a strong and sustainable fitness mindset. While some may find the book lacking specific advice, it provides a solid foundation for understanding the psychological aspects of fitness and developing a personalized plan for success.

Brian Keane, the author of this great book, starts by discussing mindset and the role of habits and disciplines in fitness. He then explains that fitness is a lifestyle and consistent routine as much as it is a physical activity.

Some of the information may be a review for some, but I commend Brian on his concise writing style. Furthermore, the book is a great resource if you want to learn how each macro, fat, carb, and protein type works within your body.

Should You Read The Fitness Mindset?

Brian explains everything clearly. He explains the science behind supplements and why we need protein, carbs, and fat. He also explains why we need to sleep to reach our REM state.

The Fitness Mindset does an excellent job of concisely ordering health tips and lessons. The book is fantastic because it reminds us of perspectives we may know but seldom follow.

What Are You Looking For?

Energy Boost? The Perfect Body? The Fitness Mindset?

If you want the body you have always wanted with a massive boost in energy and the mindset to keep it forever, then The Fitness Mindset is the book for you.

The book does a great job of giving a general mindset and instilling a sense of capability while not being very specific in supporting only one nutrition and fitness plan. That in itself is a plus. I like it because it gives me options and leaves the decision-making up to my lifestyle.

If you are frustrated about not getting the results you want or eating the right foods and doing the correct workouts, your body isn’t changing as quickly as you want it to. And if you are grinding through your workday with low energy levels, praying for the next day off so you can get some sleep, look no further!

The Fitness Mindset gives you everything you need to get the body you’ve always dreamed of, ramp your energy levels through the roof, and develop the mindset to keep it forever. I can’t believe how better I feel after implementing Brian’s strategies outlined in the book.

Who is the Author? Who is Brian Keane?

Brian Keane went from a full-time primary school teacher in London to one of the top online fitness coaches in Ireland and the UK in less than five years. He is transforming thousands of lives and physiques in the process.

From playing top-level inter-county football as a teenager to traveling the world as a professional fitness model in his twenties, Brian reveals what he has learned in his 16 years of training, nutrition, and personal development.

Why Implement Brian’s Proven Strategies

You Will:

  • Know exactly what foods work best for you and how to eat to increase energy, lose fat, and build lean muscle
  • Learn how to combine tension-style workouts and High-Intensity Interval Training (HIIT) with building the body you’ve always wanted.
  • Build better habits and find your ‘why,’ so you never lose motivation again.
  • Develop strategies to minimize stress, anxiety, and the fear of rebounding so you can create a bulletproof body and mind.
  • Finally, get into the best physical and mental shape of your life.

Helpful Guidance on the Three Types of Bodies:

  1. The Ectomorph
  2. The endomorph
  3. The mesomorph

The book also provides guidance on common supplements and vitamins to take and what each does for your body.

Sleep and hydration are covered as well. They are important. Get your ZZZs and h20.

Finally, there are some pretty basic workouts, but it’s a full package in terms of fitness, mindset, and excessive workouts.

Biggest Insights

Keane provides a mathematical formula for determining your macros, which you can use to fuel your body efficiently. For example, carbs are the fastest-burning macro, so Brian recommends you use them if you want a quick spike of energy, such as when completing a workout.

Final Thoughts On The Fitness Mindset

The Book is 186 pages long. It is a light read with in-depth information on eating, thinking, and accomplishing. It is the ideal book for lunch-hour reading.

Typically, books about nutrition or psychology are overwhelming with information overload, but Brian has simplified everything, making it easy and exciting but still very educational.

I enjoyed reading every page because of Brian’s positivity. He motivates me. I also love the quotes he has in the last chapters. I highly recommend this book.
